ERIE GENERAL ELECTRIC FEDERAL CREDIT UNION ASKS HOW YOU “TAKE ACTION” IN THE COMMUNITY


The Erie General Electric Federal Credit Union (EGEFCU) is beginning 2009 by asking Erieites how they “Take Action” in our community. The individual with the best story will win a $1000 prize and a $1000 donation to the non-profit organization of their choice.

The Credit Union released the “Take Action: 2009” video contest on January 2nd, 2009. The contest will be take place from January 2nd to March 31st, 2009.

EGEFCU will be looking for participants to explain how they are taking action in the community by volunteering for, donating to, or supporting a non-profit in any way. The participants will compose a video explaining why they are passionate about their cause, and submit it via YouTube or send it on a DVD via postal mail. Videos are to be a maximum of three minutes and 100mb max file size. EGEFCU is looking for originality and creativity in the submissions.

EGEFCU has also scheduled filming dates at each of their six Erie locations, allowing those without access to a video camera the chance to be videotaped by a Credit Union employee and entered into the contest. Filming dates and times can be found on the Credit Union website.

The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 for themselves and an additional $1,000 for the non-profit of their choice. Videos will be judged by an independent panel and the winner will be announced during April 2009. The winning video will be shown in its entirety at the Credit Union’s Annual Meeting on April 21st, and the winner will also have the opportunity to appear in Credit Union advertising.

All post-mailed videos must include the full names of all in the featured video, a valid email address, and a phone number. DVD’s will not be returned to entrants.
