CultureVegas and LasVegas.Net collaborate to help emerging cultural organizations in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV, January 5th, 2009 – CultureVegas LC, an up-and-coming cultural event organization working towards community connection and affordable marketing for cultural events, today announced that it has entered into a two-year contract with LasVegas.Net LLC. As a community supporter and local business, LasVegas.Net will provide CultureVegas with technological support-- contributing their technical expertise to the cultural website. The contract will allow CultureVegas to provide internet exposure and online interactions to budding and persistent community organizations, creating a valuable technological support for the website, thus enabling CultureVegas to focus on fostering community relations more effectively.
"As Las Vegas grows and matures into a large metropolitan city, along with it comes the need to have a substantial culture and arts base. There is a growing movement to bring into reality a viable "cultural infrastructure" which includes a reliable information delivery system that fosters community awareness and promotes participation,” said Katy Gilpatrick Ph.D. Professor at UNLV.

Nick Phillips with LasVegas.net says, “We see a positive potential for the community by having a website like CultureVegas.com succeeding. We were impressed by the two girls’ efforts so far into the project and thought we would be able to help in a positive manner. Vegas has a lot of tourist attractions but there doesn’t yet seem to be a great way for locals to promote their events or find things to do locally.”
As a user-based, free posting board, CultureVegas allows everyone access to information in their communities.
