Kepler College Announces An Astrological Inauguration Party

Kepler College faculty members and alumni will be present a cross-cultural comparison of the astrology of President Elect Barack Obama, Vice-President Elect Joe Biden and the predictions for the national election. Different time periods and different cultures have their own methods for interpreting astrological charts and making predictions. This webcast will compare and contrast three primary methods: Jyotish or Vedic from India, Hellenistic from Ancient Greece and modern Western astrology.

Presenters include both Kepler College faculty and alumni. Gary Gomes, MBA, faculty member and President of the Council for Vedic Astrology will use Jyotish for his interpretation. Joseph Crane, MA, faculty member and author of The Hellenistic Legacy will be analyzing the charts using Hellenistic Astrology. Kepler College, based in Lynnwood, Washington, is the only college in the United States that offers liberal studies degrees that include an examination of how different cultures and different time periods linked celestial events with human concerns. The most widespread example of this common activity is the controversial subject of astrology. Our faculty are well respected experts in the field. Students explore the controversies and conflicts between astrology, science and religion. They have a chance to compare how Eastern and Western cultures interpreted celestial events and the role astrology played in each culture.

Kepler College is authorized by the Higher Education Coordinating Board of Washington to grant Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. Students can also enroll in a Certificate program and get college credits for specific areas of study. Non-credit audit students are also welcome.
