YOUNG MARSHALS SPREAD THE TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 10, 2009 -- Clearwater, FL -- It’s a new year, and drug abuse and those determined to do something about it are no longer on holiday. Members of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, a secular non-profit organization formed to educate individuals on the dangers of drugs, mobilized their Drug-Free Marshals this weekend and recruited store owners in downtown Clearwater to join their crusade. Leanne Harris and Avory Dale, both 11 years old, expressed their enthusiasm at the opportunity to make a difference.

“I know I’m doing something that might save somebody’s life some day and that makes me feel good.” Said Harris.
The “Drug-Free Marshals” youth drug-education and prevention campaign was formed in 1993, to educate children as young as 6 on the dangers of drugs, and to challenge them to remain drug-free. They demonstrate their commitment by being “sworn in” and, pledging to remain drug-free, as well telling others about the harmful effects of drugs, and encouraging their peers to live drug-free lives.

The Drug-free Marshal help distribute the Foundation for a Drug-Free World’s truth about drugs booklets. These illustrated booklets offer compelling evidence on the dangers of drugs in simple straightforward language. Each is focused on a particular drug with the primary booklet entitled “The truth about Drugs.” They include real life stories from former users and are available in 19 different languages.
