L&L Dreamspell Signs Funny Silver Sisters Mysteries Series
Authors Morgan St. James and Phyllice Bradner say, "We're delighted that our new publishers share our zany sense of humor."
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 11, 2009 --
Authors, Morgan St. James and Phyllice Bradner, who are sisters in real life, have just signed with L&L Dreamspells for paperback and electronic format publication of the second novel in the series, Seven Deadly Samovars.
This comical crime caper is currently in audio production with Books in Motion, Inc., audio publisher of A Corpse in the Soup,[i/] named Best Mystery Audio Book of 2007 by USA Book News. Watch for release in mid to late 2009.
Morgan says, "Phyllice and I are zapping e-mails back and forth, drawing upon our quirky sense of humor to create Vanishing Act in Vegas, the next Silver Sisters escapade. Because Phyllice lives in Oregon and I split time between L.A. and Las Vegas, e-mails and unlimited long distance phone calls are our salvation."
Phyllice left Los Angeles to move to Alaska when she was twenty years old and lived there most of her adult life. Morgan stayed in L.A. Although both sisters were published writers in different genres, until they discovered their mutual love of funny mysteries, they were never close as sisters. In 2000 they decided to start the 21st Century by pooling their talents and the Silver Sisters were born. A Corpse in the Soup[i/] was a long time in the making as they learned the craft of writing fiction but they didn’t care. They were having so much fun recalling their zany family during their formative years, reminiscing about goofy family dinners and get-togethers and modeling characters after themselves and other wacky family and friends that they almost forgot the goal was to produce a book.
Readers constantly tell them how much they love the wisecracking Silver Sisters, identical silver-haired Mae West lookalikes, and their eighty-year-old mother and uncle who are former vaudeville magicians. Goldie Silver is an over-the-hill flower child who owns an antique shop in Alaska, and Godiva Olivia DuBois is a spoiled Beverly Hills widow who writes a syndicated advice column. The series features the quirky names, schemes that backfire, and lots of twists and turns that lead to solving the crimes.
