as the recession puts a stranglehold on the economy, the pain will keep getting worse. But by creating a passive income stream, retirees can not only survive comfortably, but they can thrive as well.

“Many older people, particularly those who have been retired for awhile, are becoming demoralized over their financial problems. That’s so sad,” she said, “because this is the time in someone’s life when they should be happy and fulfilled.” Particularly for people who have struggled with money for their entire lives, Pfeiffer says that living retirement in the shadow of financial disaster is a horrible way to spend the retirement years. “It can cause serious emotional and physical problems, on top of everything else,” she said.

One thing that prevents

many people from starting an online internet marketing business is that they know little about computers or even running a business for that matter. She urges fellow retirees not to give up but to get up and get going. “There’s no doubt these are tough times,” she said. “But that’s life. If anybody should understand that, it’s people my age. And like we’ve always done in the past we’ll get through this—with flying colors.”
