Juliette Fairley stars in 2nd solo show about Mixed Marriages

Film and TV Actress Juliette Fairley stars in The Making of a Mulatto, opening February 8, 2009 at the Sunset Gardner Stages in Hollywood.

Bi-Racial Actress Juliette Fairley launches her 2nd solo show about being a descendant of an interracial marriage. In The Making of a Mulatto, Miss Fairley juxtaposes the Nazi invasion of France with the Jim Crow South and plays the various characters who impact the the lives of an Afro-American G.I. and a French woman who marry during World War 2. They are still together today. "I wrote and perform this play in honor of my mother and father who married during a time when mixed marriages were frowned upon," said Fairley while taking a break from rehearsals at Sunset Gardner Theatre located at 1501 N. Gardner Street at Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. Performance dates are February 8, 22, March 8, April 19, May 3. Doors open at 2:30pm and show starts at 3pm. This is Juliette Fairley's second solo show about being mixed in America. Her first solo show Mulatto's Dilemma won the AAPEX Award for Best Actress and is a candidate for an NAACP Theatre Award and an Ovation Award. Miss Fairley played a principal role in Spike Lee's tv pilot MONY for NBC and was a tv host for the Discovery Channel. She has starred in many independent films that have won awards in the Hollywood Black Film Festival, the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival and the Urban Media Makers Film Festival in Atlanta. Juliette maintains residences in both Los Angeles and New York City.
