An Unfinished Edge is about ambiguity, the spaces between, and what can happen when the observer is not supplied with the critical information of a story.

Concerned with ideas of habitat, the work addresses conflicts and comparisons between the natural and human worlds. Crookall's photographs chronicle the disarray that occurs when manmade structures are left to be reclaimed by surrounding plants and animals. Hudak's paintings of patterned chaos are derived from destructive events that interrupt our daily routines while Howe's work focuses on the affects of the inanimate figures surrounding us. Klenow, artist and curator, creates video installations that touch on how inhumane violence can be rationalized when played out between animals instead of humans.

In this exhibit, each artist conceives their own narrative to exist within these unrefined spaces but all are related by a combined use of material and objects found in both natural and urban settings. They take advantage of the information suggested by material, as well as line, color and composition to fill in the narrative gaps between fact and fiction.
