In 1943, the family owned manufacturing business decided to change their destiny, and started producing their own brand of Piaget watches.

The Piaget brand watches took off and were soon moving so fast, the company was forced to open a new facility in La Côte-aux-Fées in 1945.

In 1957, Piaget developed its own ultra-thin movement, the Calibrer 12P. The 12P was just 2.3mm, making it the slimmest self-winding movement in the world. Piaget took their ability to produce extremely thin movements and began creating coin watches, ring watches, brooch watches, and even cufflink watches.

After conquering the ability to produce tiny automatic movements, Piaget introduced the Caliber 7P, the smallest quartz movement of its time.

In 1988, Piaget changed hands and was taken over by the Richemont Group, where production of fine Swiss watches continued.

Production under the Richemont Group was more productive than ever, and in 2001, Piaget opened a state-of-the-art facility, just outside of Geneva.

Today, Piaget continues to produce some of the finest and most innovative timepieces in the world.
