Wii Minute Radio 2008 Wii Game Awards Winners Announced

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 7, 2009 -- Wii Minute Radio announced it's 2008 Wii Game Award winners in it's Winter 2009 Edition Show released on February 5th, 2009.

Among the winners was "World of Goo" from developer 2D Boy who walked away with the WiiWare Game of the Year award and Nintendo's "Mario Kart Wii" winning the Wii Minute Radio Listener's Choice award. Mario Kart Wii also won honors for Best Wii Online Game and Best Wii Racing Game.

Publisher Electronic Arts won big, earning awards for Best Wii Publisher and Wii Game of the Year for it's hit title "Boom Blox", a collaboration between EA and Steven Spielberg. Electronic Arts also won Wii Minute Radio's "One Small Step for Wii" award for it's EA Online service which bypasses Nintendo's unpopular Friend Code system and allows access to it's entire library of online games on Wii with only one user ID and password.

Honors also went to Blue Tongue Entertainment's "De Blob" for Best Wii Action Game, "Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection" for Best Wii Arcade-Style Game, and peripheral maker Nyko won the award for Best Wiimote Controller Shell for it's Perfect Shot gun attachment.

Wii Minute Radio is an internet radio show and podcast that covers features, reviews, and other commentary on Nintendo's hit console, the Wii. The show is hosted by Alex J. Lopez and is currently in it's second season.
