Knowledge Center Inc to Offer First Ever ITIL v3 Intermediate Courses in Washington DC metro area

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 7, 2009 -- Knowledge Center Inc becomes the first EXIN accredited ITIL education provider to publicly offer all 10 ITIL v3 Intermediate courses starting this February in Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC.

For ITIL v3 Foundations certified practitioners, the ITIL Intermediates offer more advanced, role-based training with a focus on specific clusters of processes and functions. The benefit of these courses is that they provide a better, richer understanding of the ITIL best practices that relate to different areas of IT service and support.

There are 9 Intermediate courses organized into two streams - "Lifecycle" and "Capability".

The 4 Capability courses focus on specific ITIL processes so are more akin to the clustered Practitioner certificates which existed under the version 2 qualification scheme. As such they are most useful to those who will be taking part in the day to day practical activities described within each of the processes.

The 5 Lifecycle Certificates mirror the 5 core ITIL manuals. They address the aspects of ITIL from a holistic, lifecycle perspective. As such they are more suited to those with managerial responsibility looking at the overall IT Service Management picture. The Service Strategy course in particular is very much rooted in the broader corporate strategy and governance environment.

Once you have completed the mix of Intermediate modules you will need to take the Managing Across the Lifecycle course and exam to become an ITIL Expert

An ITIL Intermediate Certificate is awarded upon achieving a grade of at least 70% on a 90-minute, 8-question multiple choice exam. Successful exam candidates also qualify to receive five (5) ITIL v3 credits per course towards the 22 required to attain the ITIL Expert qualification.
