LG Electronics Announces AMB as New Distribution Partner for its Mobile Phones in Jordan

The announcement came at an event hosted by AMB at the Sheraton Amman Hotel on Tuesday February 3rd, 2009. This partnership demonstrates LGE’s robust approach to reinforce its mobile phone business in Jordan

During the event, which was attended by LG and AMB mobile phone dealers and representatives of LG mobile business team and AMB’s management teams, the new strategic partnership was announced. LGE’s upcoming product line for 2009 was also unveiled to attendees, featuring new sensational and sophisticated models such as Cookie (KP-500), Etna (KS-360) and Prada. These, like all LG products, represent the perfect harmony between cutting-edge technology and innovative style, specifically designed to fit, and even surpass, the expectations of consumers, and the needs of the Jordanian market.

According to numbers compiled by DigiTimes, LG Electronics shipped over 100 million mobile phones worldwide in 2008 making the company the third largest handset maker in terms of shipments. While the global economic downturn is expected to continue into 2009, LG’s business target is to grow continuously and expand market share, capturing more of the market for feature-packed premium models, Smartphones and mid-to-low end mass volume units.

It is important to note that LG Electronics Levant operates its mobile phone business in Jordan through two distributors; the recently-appointed AMB Company and 7Global.
