AT&T SPENDING MILLIONS IN LEGAL PURSUIT OF INDIVIDUAL
AT&T SPENDING MILLIONS IN LEGAL PURSUIT OF INDIVIDUAL
Another amazing example of corporate wasteful spending
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 10, 2009 --
New York, NY (February 10, 2009) – AT&T Corporation is said to be spending several million plus dollars in pursuit of a small business proprietor who previously owned and operated some Cingular Wireless stores.
Although the defendant Alan Kaufman has made it very clear to AT&T’s lead council at Drinker, Biddle and Reath that he is unemployed, has no ability to pay and his company Harvard Cellular went bankrupt, AT&T is now in its 7th year of litigation.
Just recently AT&T hired an additional law firm in Florida and filed a new complaint in the Southern District Federal Court of Palm Beach County where Alan now resides. Federal litigation is known to be very timely and expensive yet AT&T sees no end in its expenditures pursuing a $750,000 judgment.
In a real life David vs. Goliath, Mr. Kaufman who can not afford an attorney is representing himself and has asserted various counterclaims including Breach of Contract and Fraudulent Inducement with damages in excess of $7M.
Currently AT&T is in very sensitive negotiations with its Union where employees are fighting for every dollar. One must really wonder if senior management of these large corporations has any handle on the day to day spending.
In a time of great scrutiny by the media of corporate greed and wasteful spending, AT&T may hope it’s Union and shareholders don’t get a hold of this one.
