(Free-Press-Release.com) February 20, 2009 -- The deadline for the receipt of entries is Friday 27 February, with a further deadline for the receipt of votes of Friday 6th March. Those companies looking to generate some positive PR and celebrate their achievements should register with the North East Digital Awards website and upload their entry immediately in order to give themselves the maximum amount of time possible to receive votes.

The North East Digital Awards is funded exclusively by regional development agency One North East and is sponsored by Business Link and the Journal’s nebusiness awards. Now in its second year, the Awards celebrate the innovation, professionalism and excellence in the digital world.

Once the deadline for voting has passed, shortlists will be created based on the most votes received. The three projects with the most votes will be subject to a quality review before being submitted to be judged by a specially selected panel of experts during sessions taking place on 16 March.

Alastair MacColl, Chief Executive of Business & Enterprise North East, which delivers the Business Link service in the region said, “The North East is home to a wealth of successful and ambitious digital media and technology businesses and these awards showcase the outstanding talent and achievements of this sector.

The competition has so far attracted entries from companies as diverse as games developers, authors, software specialists and even a radiologist. Such variety is tribute to the region’s businesses and also highlights the impact that technology and ICT can have on a business, no matter the sector or industry it works in.
