The YWCA Darien/Norwalk, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to giving women the support and tools they need to transform their lives, be confident in their choices and raise healthy families. Its’ national mission, eliminating racism and empowering women, translates locally into a vision to create opportunities for growth, leadership and empowerment for all women and families. Supported by the Community Fund of Darien and charitable donations from members and other local sponsors, the YWCA is also currently aligned with the CARE Darien Campaign as an added effort to reach out to members of its’ town. “The Human Services Planning Council launched the CARE Darien Campaign last year to encourage all who live, work, and play in our community to be accountable for personal actions and respectful of one another," says Community Fund of Darien Executive Director Kiki Karpen. "The YW continues to support this important campaign through efforts like the March Money Matters program. Organizing these timely financial workshops, and even more, offering at no charge to the general public, is very thoughtful and shows how much they indeed care about all people in our community."
The Financial Planning Association of Fairfield County is a chapter of the Financial Planning Association, a membership organization that exists to help consumers make intelligent financial decisions to achieve their life goals. FPA benefits the public by helping to ensure that financial planning is delivered through competent, ethical financial planners. FPA is made up of a nationwide network of some 100 chapters and 28,000 members. The FPA has a pro bono program that is aimed at assisting individuals and families who need financial planning but lack the means to engage a financial planning professional on a commercial basis.
