Winner of International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship Best Paper Award announced

(Free-Press-Release.com) February 27, 2009 -- United Kingdom, February 2009- Emerald Group Publishing Limited is delighted to announce that the winner of the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship Best Paper Award is Debabrata Maji, of the Centre for Appropriate Technology and Rural Development North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology. His winning paper is entitled ‘Women’s Entrepreneurship Development in Arunachal Pradesh’.

As a prize Mr Maji will receive a complimentary subscription to the 2009 volume of the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship and an opportunity to submit the winning paper for review for potential publication in the journal. The award was presented at the Manipal Institute of Management’s International conference on Harnessing Entrepreneurial Potential of Women for Economic Growth held in Manipal, India on the 22-24 January 2009.

The Conference focused on how to harness the entrepreneurial potential of women for economic growth and also enable the growth of women in the Micro, Small and Medium Sized Enterprise (MSME) sector and in addition family businesses. Other topics covered at the conference included networking of women entrepreneurs, women as technocrat entrepreneurs and socio-cultural issues in women enterprise development.

The International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship (IJGE) is due to launch in April 2009. The journal is edited by Dr Collette Henry, director of the centre for Entrepreneurship Research, Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland.
