FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 1, 2009 -- (Medford, Oregon) CNS Productions, Inc., announced the release of their newest drug education video "The Neurochemistry of Relapse and Recovery." This 31 minute film uses animation, interviews with those in recovery, excerpts from group sessions, and comments from members of the scientific and treatment community to explain how the chemistry of the brain can influence both the negative occasion of a relapse, as well as the positive action of recovery.

The video explains the role of memory bumps, the brain's stop and go switches, and uses an allergy as an analogy to explain substance abuse. Dr. Darryl Inaba, the film's technical advisor, has been a treatment professional for over four decades and believes that the film will help the person in recovery understand where cravings come from and how to manage them. The information is also designed to help the families and friends of those in treatment understand the unique challenges encountered on the journey toward recovery.

Recovery is a life-long pursuit and relapse is an insidious specter waiting in the wings to derail the journey. Interviews with people on that journey allow viewers to learn from the real-life stories that are used as a thread throughout the film. The Neurochemistry of Relapse and Recovery presents the "whys" of relapse and the "how's" of remaining clean along with a clear message of hope for those committed to recovery.

The Neurochemistry of Relapse and Recovery is the seventeenth film in the CNS library of drug education videos. They also publish a college level textbook "Uppers Downers All Arounders" authored by Dr. Darryl Inaba and William Cohen, and a variety of educational and treatment support materials.
