About Lisa Tse (@sweetmandarin)

Lisa Tse, CEO of the award winning restaurant and cookery school, Sweet Mandarin, is the third generation of women restaurateurs and has a passion for people, business and food as recently demonstrated when she won the Prowess Businesswoman of the Year Award. She started these master classes to teach school children and the demands for her techniques were felt as far as the Caribbean. “It was an honour to be invited to teach the children of the Cayman Islands on how to cook Chinese food. For many, they had never tasted Chinese cuisine before. In the UK, I teach at schools and I noticed that my classes were growing fast - the teachers, even non domestic science teachers ended up joining in and soon parents were requesting lessons. That’s how the cooking school started.” Lisa’s home style Chinese dishes get your taste buds tingling. The distinctive flavour comes from garlic, ginger, coriander and chilies. The stir fries are lightly cooked so they are crisp, colourful and highly flavoured. Using the woks with the full blast of the fire is an experience in itself.
