Ovations for the Cure elects Corporate Family Network President/CEO Linda John to Board

John is President/CEO and founder of Corporate Family Network (CFN), a nationally recognized employee assistance program based in New York City. Founded in 1996, CFN seeks to assist companies in increasing productivity by helping employees resolve the issues and problems that interfere with their personal well-being and on the job effectiveness.

She holds a business degree from St. John’s University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University. An ovarian cancer survivor, John brings more than 25 years of business experience to the Ovation’s board. Her acumen has been recognized by Ernst & Young, Diversity Business, Fortune 5000 and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

Called the silent killer, ovarian cancer frequently causes non-specific symptoms that contribute to diagnoses in the late stages, and more than 70 percent of women diagnosed with this disease are diagnosed too late for successful treatment. In 2008, it is estimated that approximately 21,650 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 15,520 will die.
