Sydney Fat Loss Expert Advises Against Fruit Juice Consumption

Sydney Fat Loss Expert Daniel Munday comments on the latest findings by consumer group Choice about the dangers of fruit juice consumption

His comments come in the wake of the latest reports from consumer group Choice that fruit juices containing added supplements and vitamins had no significant health benefits, and even the potential to be harmful in some of the population.

“Finally the general public have been told the real truth about these gimmicky products that promise the world yet deliver very little nutritional value” Munday commented.

“To say these are healthy alternatives is kidding everyone. Fruit juice in general, unless it has come from a just squeezed piece of fruit is effectively about as good for you as having a soft drink with all the extra sugars, sweeteners and colourings” he warns.

The Choice findings have refuted claims from fruit juice companies about their perceived antioxidant levels finding that juice products are full of fictional claims about recommended daily intake levels of vitamins and minerals, including the findings that apple juice only has 14 per cent of the antioxidant capacity of a regular apple.

“This is despite the fact that an apple has only approximately 55 calories and 100% apple juice has a calorie content of 120 for only 1 cup size according to the Calorie King website. How many people stop at one juice a day?” Munday asks when commenting on some people’s tendency to have a juice for breakfast and at other meals times.

Munday closed by saying “Now you can begin to see why these so-called health foods are contributing to our ever expanding waistlines. Don’t believe everything that you read in clever marketing campaigns about fruit juices being all healthy for you. Your best bet is always going to be getting fruit and vegetables from their original source”.
