The Las Vegas City Council Named March 4th Spread the Word Nevada: Kids to Kids Day

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 5, 2009 -- Las Vegas, Nevada – March 4th is named “Spread the Word Nevada: Kids to Kids Day” by the Las Vegas City Council. This is an honor recognized by the city council for the nonprofit endeavors achieved by Spread the Word Nevada and the organization’s contributions to promote youth literacy.

Councilwoman Lois Tarkanian presented the special Proclamation to Spread the Word Nevada, Inc. Founder, Laurie Hartig, a representative of the nonprofit organization. Other officials who participated in the presentation included Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, Councilman Steve Wolfson, Mayor Pro Tem Councilman Gary Reese, Councilman David W. Steinman, Councilman Steven D. Ross, and Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow.

Founder and Program Director of Spread the Word Nevada, Inc., Laurie Hartig, expressed, "Spread the Word Nevada: Kids to Kids is truly a community effort, so any acknowledgment we may receive belongs to everyone whose dedication and generosity have helped Spread the Word Nevada distribute more than a million books to at-risk children."
