New Internet protocol allows registration of all Internet addresses
New Internet protocol allows registration of all Internet addresses
we.bnam.es' own wnrp:// addresses have the potential to revolutionize the Internet
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) March 6, 2009 --
Everybody who has ever read the sentence "this domain name has already been taken, please choose another one", knows how hard good names on the Internet are to come by.
This new service called WebNames, provides advantages over the current naming system on the Internet using Domain Names. It allows to register names on another protocol, the WebNameResolutionProtocol ( WNRP ). Therefore, all the names that were available in the beginning of the Internet - some time back in the second millennium - are available for registration again.
One of the advantages WebNames provide over Domain Names is that endings like .abc or .xyz can be registered as well. These so called TopLevelNames ( TLNs ) allow for better grouping of WebNames and enable the owner to resell WebNames using his TLN.
After installing the free protocol handler for the wnrp:// protocol from http://we.bnam.es/downloads, the user can immediately start browsing WebNames.
Addresses like wnrp://google.com and wnrp://microsoft.com have already been registered.
Currently, Firefox and Internet Explorer are supported, giving roughly 90% of the Internet users the possibility to use this exciting new service. With a version for Safari in the works, even 98% of all Internet users will be able to benefit from this service.
