PIECE OF CAKE NOW SHIPPING ITS FAMOUS LAYER CAKES

But until now these made-from-scratch cakes like “Mom” used to make have only been available at the bakery’s two Atlanta locations and through metro-Atlanta delivery. This month, Piece of Cake begins shipping its famous layer cakes anywhere in the United States.

“For years our customers have been asking us to ship our layer cakes outside Atlanta. While we’ve been shipping our pound cakes and gift packages for many years, we just never found the right kind of packaging that would protect our layer cakes,” said Melissa Bunnen, founder of Piece of Cake. “We finally developed the right packaging and now our cakes can travel far and still arrive as fresh and delicious as if you carried it out of our own kitchen.”

Bunnen says the layer cakes are shipped via UPS in the company’s specially designed packaging. Cakes are usually delivered between one and two days.

Piece of Cake is shipping its nine-inch, three-layer cakes for $32.50. Delivery is extra. Cakes come in eight tantalizing flavors including moist carrot cake with cream cheese walnut frosting, really red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, and one of the company’s most popular choices, wonderful white chocolate with cream cheese pecan frosting.
