Appointment of CEO Paul Wood to the Senior Executive Group (SEG)

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 16, 2009 -- Faithful+Gould’s strategic plan for greater involvement in the U.S. Department of Defense marketplace recently received a major boost by the appointment of CEO Paul Wood to the Senior Executive Group (SEG) of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

The purpose of the SEG is to discuss topics of great interest to SAME and the professional engineering and construction community and provide topical information to the President for directing SAME. The SEG is composed of CEOs and Presidents from Industry, the Engineering Service Chiefs of the uniformed services, selected National Committee Chairs, invited guests, and the Executive Director.

SEG members meet twice annually. These meetings present an opportunity for frank discussion of issues related to improving delivery of engineering products and services. Issues and concerns are solicited from SEG members ahead of time, placed on the agenda, and discussed openly in the forum. The meetings have been very beneficial over time, bringing to the surface concerns or ideas that might not otherwise have surfaced for consideration during the normal course of doing business. The four topics of discussion at the latest meeting were: Building Information Modeling (BIM), Professional Licensure and Certification, Incorporation of Risk Assessment in Civil Works Programs, and Execution of Military Construction Programs.
