Three Stars Partners with the March of Dimes for their ‘Score for the Future’ Charity Program

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 18, 2009 -- – For the past six weeks the employees of Three Stars participated in an intra-company flag football league, dubbed ‘Score for the Future’, in which each point scored generated a five dollar pledge from the company’s executives to a charity fund. The total pledged dollars, expected to top $2000 by the end of the season, will be used to benefit the March of Dimes.

The league’s championship game will be played on Friday, March 20th at 2:30 p.m. at the Smith Center located at 1723 Bruton Blvd. Representatives from the March of Dimes will be on hand to witness the festivities and enjoy the cookout being served up to the expected 200 employees and their guests.

The Three Stars event will serve as the launching point for the annual March for Babies event April 25th at Lily Park in Maitland. The company will be building baskets for mothers of premature babies that contain all of the essentials needed to care for the newborns. The baskets being assembled by Three Stars will be donated during the march along with baskets from other organizations, groups and individuals. During the game employees will be personally donating additional items to the baskets.

‘Score for the Future’ comes on the heels of the company’s successful Christmas toy drive, ‘Month of Miracles,’ that collected over 1500 toys for the children of Ivey Lane Homes; an event covered by local news outlets Fox35 and WKMG.

The league has proven to be popular activity for the staff, not just for its charitable contributions, but also for the playful competitiveness it has spread around the office. Three Stars is considering expanding the ‘Score for the Future’ program by inviting other local companies to join the league and pledge similar funds to their favorite charities. They hope to have several new teams signed up for the second season this summer.

Three Stars is a rapidly expanding company that anticipates adding 100 new jobs to the local economy by the end of the year.
