Friends Found: Sharks of Tiger Beach to be presented at Beneath The Sea Dive Show in NJ

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 26, 2009 -- Friends Found: The Sharks Of Tiger Beach Bahamas - the little shark video that I made for a good friend - has had (much to my surprise and delight) an incredibly positive impact on how hundreds of divers around the world see sharks. I’m very excited to announce that Friends Found is now reaching deep into the education and conservation communities. Two companies attending Beneath The Sea this weekend (a prominent dive industry show in New Jersey) will be featuring Friends Found in their booths!

Kids Sea Camp. (Booth 602) Owner and founder Margo Peyton, who, I am very excited to say, is being inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame at this year's awards banquet, will be featuring Friends Found in the Kids Sea Camp booth. Kids Sea Camp combines a fun, safe and educational dive program for kids, with an equally relaxing and private time for their parents. This year, it has become Margo’s personal goal to inform and educate families about the true nature of the sharks in our oceans and in doing so, convey the importance of sharks to our ecosystems and our planet. She will be using Friends Found as a tool to present the side of sharks that is often overlooked.

Shark Savers. (Booth 122) Shark Savers is a non-profit group that brings a positive approach to shark education, awareness, and action. They are dedicated to increasing awareness about sharks and provide means for people around the world to get involved to help save them. When several of the founders and staff of Shark Savers found ~ Friends Found, they immediately fell in love with the imagery, but more importantly they were elated to see a film about sharks that captures the “other” natural side of sharks. They will be showing Friends Found in their booth and in their presentations about sharks.

About Friends Found: Last fall, I took a trip to the Bahamas aboard the Dolphin Dream with new friends Wolf and Felix Leander, Fiona Ayerst, Jupp Kerckerinck, Jeff Schreiber and Amanda Cotton. What a spectacular time we all had with the Lemons, but for sure we were really there to visit the Tiger Sharks. I was asked by a friend to compile footage of our shark encounters from the trip to use for conservation. Dee McHenry worked alongside me as co-writer, and this 5 minute clip is the result.
