Formula 1 Racing - F1 First Australian Grand Prix - Jenson Button Takes Pole Position

Jenson Button secures Pole Position in the opening Grand Prix in Australia, while the Reigning 2008 Formula 1 Champion Lewis Hamilton has to pull out due to a gear box problem.

Formula 1 also see's Virgins Richard Branson, partnering with the new Ross Brawn 'Brawn GP Team'. This is Sir Richard Branson's first venture into Formula 1 Racing, bringing his global marketing knowledge and business skill-set to the table, making the Ex-Honda Formula 1 Team a 'Hot Contender' in 2009...???

Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello have had their driving careers saved from near 'extinction' as only a few weeks ago, both thought they did not have 'Jobs' this year!

In an interview with Sir Richard Branson on completion of the race (Australian Grand Prix), he was asked 'Why Now?' to join the Formula 1 Circuit. His reply was 'Formula 1 had met certain criteria, before he would consider entering the sport.

Those were that the sport was going 'greener' fuel wise and the entry point fee was lower.
