FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) April 2, 2009 -- Witch Hunt
As Strategic Futurist and Trendwatcher Richard Lamb already
claimed at the beginning of this year -2009- we are at the gates
of an economical ‘Hunger Winter’. And the big question is: where
did the harvest go? For some time one of the big questions in the
world has been: “Is hunger necessary, is there indeed scarcity,
or is the food just simply not divided honestly?” Now that the
economic recession has hit hard, this question affects us in our
own system. Most pieces of the pie are gone...but where and by whom?

More and more acute becomes the question of guilt and louder and
louder the wish to call for justification those who are held
responsible. Careful at first, calling everyone to blame or at
least blaming the society as a whole being greedy and never
satisfied, at the moment it becomes more accepted to openly blame
one group or even one person. People are eager to hear public
excuses and even more would like the guilty parties to be
‘punished’. In public and well visible.

Biting the dust, on their knees. Sometimes it even looks like we

are ready to get the good old wooden car out of the barn again to
wheel the ‘guilty ones’ through the streets to the scaffold, the
guillotine or the stakes. Or are we more sophisticated nowadays?
Will it be possible to vote the biggest villain of the island
using sms text messaging? Voting him/her out of this big and above
all very expensive real life reality soap? It looks like the
question of guilt needs to be solved before we’ll be able to move on.

And then the solutions for the future: This can never happen again.
But how do you prevent it from doing so? By being angry about the

exorbitant bonus-culture, the amount of options, the salary being
too much? How much is too much? Do bank managers earn to much?
Insurance company leaders? Football players? Models at the catwalk?
Real estates big guys? Car industry hot shots? Your neighbours?
You? Will everyone soon be obligated to put his salary on Twitter,
transparant and open for discussion? Would that help?

History teaches us that ‘the’ solution doesn’t exist and that there
will always be emerging a group of people that in some way or the
other will find a way to enriches himself. And that taking away all

their property doesn’t solve the poverty which they may be have
partially caused. History does teach us though, that people always
felt the need and so probably still do, to point out a guilty party.
As an expression of anger, frustration and disappointment. But also
with the hope to cast away the evil by a deed of repentance or
retaliation. To exorcize the catastrophe now being the crisis,
someone has to pay, someone has to be sacrificed to please the gods
again.
After that the rest will be able to continue doing business as usual…
