The Xbox 360 is a game machine designed and manufactured by Microsoft Corporation since it’s inception it has sold tens of million’s of unit around the world. It has become hugely popular with children and adults alike largely due to the fact of the massive number of gaming software development companies that jumped on board to create games for the machines, so it was able to amass a huge number of titles that were ready for sale when the Xbox was released to the public way back in November 15, 2001. The second generation Xbox , more commonly known as the Xbox 360 was released to the public on November 22, 2005 . It was the very first gaming machine that incorporated a hard drive to save large amounts of media and game saves. It was released in a cloud of controversy because the release date was pushed back twice because of various issues, to do with hard ware. This did not however impact on the initial unit sales. In fact it quickly became the second biggest selling gaming machine closely behind the Sony Playstation 2.

After a period of time there were certain indications that all was not well with the hardware of the Xbox 360 , there were many , many machines that all of a sudden were having major hardware malfunctions. And they just simply would not work. Microsoft quickly responded by creating a massive technical support division, it was quite apparent that they knew exactly what was the issue was with the critical hardware issues, because when you called them they knew exactly how much the repair was going to cost, how long it was going to take, how would they ever know this if they had not seen the machine to diagnose the problem. It has been widely speculated that they infact could not get the required quality parts for the machine and made do with second rate lesser quality parts just to get the machines out in time for the big Japanese launch.
The problem is so widespread that it has been given is own name, the Xbox 360 red ring of death , because of the four circular lights on the front panel of the machine are segmented into fours equal sections, three of the four lights turn red which is the classic indication that your xbox has suffered the red ring of death.
