After being in this business for 8 years now I have noticed that there is a notion that there is safety in numbers, waiting for the other guy to move or watching the media to give an indication that the time is right to enter.

Either methodology, waiting for the herd to move to another grazing area or for the pundits in the media to give you a direction to move in is generally a no win proposition. Buying with the herd only dilutes the potential value and waiting for the media is a sure way to be manipulated.

But let's say that the media is actually on target then you should know that real estate is being sold again. You'll also hear time and time again that "investors" meaning those that have millions upon millions have moved to hard assets. Why? Intrinsic value!

Let's give the media just a little more credit for having some insight; there are very few pundits on the tube painting a bright picture for the stock market in the near future. And in March if not January we'll see that those predictions will be fulfilled. A lack of action today will manifest into more loss in the future.


Where is your investment focus? I've found that one of the most powerful practices an investor can employ is to spend a day away from the office, dream a little, and envision their position 1, 3, 5 years into the future.
