The most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report released in April showed the economy shedding 663,000 jobs. This comes at the heels of having lost 651,000 the previous month. Many of these newly unemployed will be seeking ways to re-tool for the new economy.

Calder describes having heard stories about recently laid-off workers who had employment histories of more than 25 years. It is this generation for whom Calder is particularly concerned.
