San Diego Swimsuit Photographer Showcasing Swimsuit Bikini Models and Beaches

Sean Callahan, a local San Diego resident, has been photographing swimsuit models and local San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles beaches for the last 6 years since helping start SoCal Beaches Magazine and a host of San Diego based community websites. "I love San Diego beaches and started photographing them for the fun of it, but now jobs are coming in from swimsuit and clothing companies to showcase their products in a beach setting", said Callahan, who has done nearly 200 photo shoots over the past 6 years.

"I have gotten to know what are the best locations to shoot at and have also been able to network into many classic car and hot rod clubs to include their cars in the photo shoots", said Callahan who has also developed a niche for using classic cars, woodies and hot rods in his beach area photo shoots.

"Their are many photographers who shoot swimwear and the goal is to try to create a niche that seprates you from the rest", said Callahan, "My niche is that I always shoot at local beach locations from San Diego to Los Angeles, and I always try to include classic cars, hot rods and surfers as part of the shoot to capture the Southern California beach lifestyle".

Callahan grew up and spent much of his childhood in Minnesota where television shows like "Baywatch" would showcase the Southern California lifestyle. "I always grew up thinking that California was all about pretty girls, beaches, surfing, cool cars and palm trees". "My photo shoots try to showcase that Southern California lifestyle", he said.

In addition to shooting swimsuit models and fashions, Callahan also shoots landscapes, action sports including surfing events and the AVP Beach Volleyball Tour and also local beach events like the Imperial Beach Sandcastle contest, The Helen Woodward Dog Surfing event, The Wavecrest Woodie Car Show and many other events which are showcased along Southern California beaches.

Callahan has started getting much more publicity for the swimsuit modeling photo shoots since videos started posting on YouTube.com and Myspace.com videos. "The YouTube.com and Myspace.com videos have really helped bring more exposure to clients and also to my niche of photographing swimsuit models with classic cars". The videos have gotten over 300,000 views on YouTube.com in the first year and the Myspace.com profiles have gotten over 500,000 pages views and growing fast in popularity as visitors start seeing behind the scenes clips on video.

Callahan says that what makes a him a good swimsuit model photographer is the ability to
choreograph the looks he wants the models to pose in and also make sure that everyone is having fun and there is no stress on the set. "I always want the models to feel like they are having fun and I always respect any feedback and suggestions they have while on a photo shoot", he said "In this day and age of digital photography there is no reason not to shoot as many frames as possible and not to miss a shot".

Many swimwear and clothing companies are using Callahan and his photographic skills to showcase their swimwear and clothing. Some of the companies he has shot for include Liquid Eyewear, Sunsets Inc. Swimwear, Codewear Clothing, LinneaSwim swimwear, ABBLswimwear, Fresh Peaches Swimwear and Strings by Judith swimwear.

Before shooting photography Callahan was an artist who focused on painting and later clay scultpures. He work was secected twice to be showcased in the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park from juried shows he entered. "I was lucky to have entered twice and have been selected to showcase my work twice, once for a painting the the second year for a clay sculpture", said Callahan, who says that photography now serves as his main creative outlet. "I love color and the more color I can squeeze into a frame the better". In addition to being selected to the San Diego Museum of Art, Callahan also has received numerous awards for his photos including being selected to the "International Society of Photographers" as a honoree member.

In addition to having a growing fan base for his photos on the SoCal Beaches Magazine websites he also works as an internet marketing consultant for business owners. "I am very good at Internet marketing, but I am very passionate about photography", this is a break out year where I can start transitioning my full time profession to photography and shooting video and working with clients for Internet marketing projects will become secondary.

"I am getting ready to start shooting couples and familes for sunset photos, shooting models resume and portfolio photos and also start working with more action sports companies photographing clothing, eyewear and swimwear".
