JP Turner announced that Patrick Power, managing director of their Investment Banking Division, was elected by Association members to the Board of Directors of the National Investment Banking Association (NIBA). He will serve a three-year term.
“NIBA offers Patrick and JP Turner a great way to build relationships with other investment banking professionals and broker-dealer owners and to keep our finger on the pulse of what is happening in the industry,” commented Bill Mello, president of JP Turner. “Having served on NIBA’s board myself, I understand their desire to have people on their board who represent them in a way that brings their mission statement to life. Patrick is a natural fit.”
Mello feels NIBA provided him with industry knowledge he wouldn’t have necessarily
had access to and facilitated relationships with people he wouldn’t have crossed paths with providing him with greater industry insight. He served on the board from 2001-2005.
Power commented on his new position by saying, “I am grateful and honored by my peers for electing to me serve them. During my term I’ll do my best to elevate the success of the Association and assist member firms with ever increasing problems during this chaotic economic period. We’ll be better tomorrow than we are today.”
“I know this will be a professionally rewarding opportunity for Patrick,” said Mello. “It will help him better position JP Turner’s Investment Banking Division to enhance the services we provide to our clients.”
