New 2009/2010 Garrett County Maryland Visitors Guides Now Available

2009/2010 Garrett County Maryland Visitors Guides Now Available


McHenry, MD -- The 2009/2010 Garrett County Visitors Guide is now available. A comprehensive guide to Garrett County, the annual publication by the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce includes information about area attractions, family-friendly activities, outdoor adventures, restaurants, lodging, parks, and events.

“The Chamber’s Visitors Guide is the comprehensive tourism reference guide for Garrett County,” said Charlie Ross, President/CEO of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce. “This year’s Guide showcases “100 Ways to Escape the Ordinary” in Garrett County by highlighting activities ranging from visiting our county parks to celebrating Autumn Glory to touring the Historic National Road and everything in-between.”


“We are busy distributing the Guide to potential visitors throughout the county, state and Mid-Atlantic region,” says Ross, “so they can begin exploring the ‘100 Ways to Escape the Ordinary’ in Garrett County and, perhaps, discover a few new ones along the way.”

Along with advertisements from and a directory of all of the Chamber’s members, the Guide features colorful photography, a what’s new section and lists activities that visitors to the area can do in the winter, on the water, as a couple, and as a family, along with state parks & forest information, cultural activities, shopping, dining & lodging options and business information. The back of the guide also features a Garrett County map along with quick-reference grids that list options for recreation, dining & retreats/meetings, accommodations & vacation rentals. The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce worked with a new publishing company, Great State Publishing, who produces Maryland Life Magazine, to help the Chamber produce the 2009/2010 Visitor Guide.


The Visitors Guide is being made available to visitors, Chamber members, Visitor Welcome centers, area businesses, travel bureaus, tour organizations and convention groups and to other tourism offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The guides are also available at the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, at local businesses and the Chamber also sends Guides out to those who request them on the Chamber’s tourism website, www.visitdeepcreek.com.
