The concerts will be recorded and published by Tone-Pearls Records. The event will feature a celebration of piano masterpieces of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Mozart and Schumann.

The spring concerts mark Hegedus’ fifth appearance in Ireland, having previously performed memorable recitals in Kerry in 2007 and 2008. He has also toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, North America and Australia.

His exceptional live performances distinguish him as a master of tonal beauty and clarity. International critics and audiences alike have hailed him as one of the most prominent piano soloist in the world. In the UK, he was elected among the best 300 active concert pianists of the world just before the millennium. Hegedus has won a plethora of piano competitions and distinguished awards including the coveted Franz Liszt and Georges Cziffra Prize.

"I was deeply impressed by his playing, I've never thought that music can be so beautiful", said Robin after Hegedus' last recital in Kenmare.

"Endre is not only a great pianist but a wonderful man and teacher as well", said Marcel, who is taught by Hegedus through the internet, and who has recently won silver medal in the Feis Ceoil 113th Music Festival.

Endre Hegedus is an accomplished classical pianist. Born in 1954 in Hungary, his 30 year career has included thousands of performances worldwide and earned him prizes in international piano competitions including: first prize in the Rachmaninov competition, Morcone, Italy (1987); first prize in the Rina Sala Gallo competition, Monza, Italy (1982); second prize in the Sydney competition for young pianists - and the jury’s special prize for the best chamber music performance - Australia (1981).

In 1991, he sustained a serious injury to his right hand when a broken drinks bottle severed numerous nerves. Without anaesthetic, a specialist hand-surgeon performed a successful operation and after two months recovering, Hegedus began the painstaking process of teaching his right hand to play the piano again.
