Spa-Go's has been throwing terrific spa parties for almost 5 years now. We can serve from 1-300 guests in an hours time. Here is a guide to what details you will want to include when planning your own spa or pamper party.

1. Determine your theme and goal. Hawaiian? Sushi, Sake and Shiatsu? Mini Manicures? Pampered Feet Party, Diva Party? You can customize your goal into the event itself, such a a Bad Boy Pamper Party featuring mini "man" i cures and hot lather facials, maybe with Frank Sinatra music. So many ideas to choose from.

2. Determine the guest count and how long do you want each guest to be serviced, 10 minutes? 20 minutes? Do you want them to have one service, two? (your party budget will help determine how long the time will be). I have never seen anyone not have a good time even at the quickie parties. They would love 2 days of pampering, but 10 minutes is just as good if that is what is offered. Don't think you can't have a party if you don't have the cash. I've seen ladies do amazing things with very little cash.

3. How much space do you have for spa equipment, such as manicure tables, reflexology chairs, massage tables, etc. A spare bedroom or office makes a great "day" spa. Your guests can enter and exit and have privacy. Some parties have a services together, spread poolside, backyard or great room.

4. Food is important, most prefer mini bites at a spa party. Nothing with messy fingers if you are having manicures. Keep it simple, clean, finger foods using toothpicks/wooden sticks.

5. Beverages should include spa water. All services, even manicures, help detox the body and your guest should be encouraged to drink plenty of water. Big clear containers with fruit and ice and water are always fun. Our top ordered water is "tootie fruity" with a little cherry juice, lots of cherries and thinly sliced oranges. We like to keep a couple martini glasses with garnishes, orange slices and long stem cherries. You can also make cucumber water, rosemary water, lemon water and fun others.

6. Chocolates and sweets. Every spa goer loves a delicious piece of something sweet. Sometimes hosts do a chocolate and wine spa party or serve no food and just chocolates opting out of munchies to cut costs. We recommend your local chocolatier or ordering up gourmet from a company such as Vosges Haut Chocolat.

7. Robes are fun, add flair and something to talk about! Have your guests bring their own or provide. Many bridal parties offer their attendants robes and slippers as a gift with their manicure service before the wedding day and corporate usually brand a set for their guests as a take-home treat.

8. How long do you want your party? Spa portion should be 2-3 hours. Hospitality suites should be length of party. Day trippers enjoy more of a retreat than a party.

9. How many services do you want to offer? Spa-Go's have 15 clothes stay on corporate services and a full menu of clothes come off. We recommend clothes on for corporate. Our most popular party is four stations where the guests rotate through them to have mini facials, massages, manicures and pedicures. (we always tell those not wanting their nails touched, just have the staff do a hand or foot massage at the nail stations, MAKE YOUR OWN REQUEST, SPEAK UP!) Speaking up is another topic, but the staff want to give you what you want, if they can. So if you have a perfect manicure already, instead of skipping the station, just ask for a hand massage. The party host should organize a flow chart so that you know when you are "up" and who's next "up".

10. What's your budget? Mobile spa providers generally have a minimum 1 hour requirement and you tell them how you want the hour split. For example you can do 10 minute manicures and one staff person can service 6 guests (5 with turn) per hour. So your cost is less with shorter time. Sometimes tip jars are out, but most parties now the host covers the gratuity ahead of time in lieu of a travel fee to guarantee your staff a decent wage for her time.

11. Linens should be white because that is the color that can be safely bleached to assure sanitation with multiple use. Colored sheets and towels are not able to be bleached and sanitized to the levels of safety. If the company you are hiring cannot tell you who or how they launder their linens, you may wish to supply your own. Spa-Go's uses a linen company to guarantee this to the guests (and we don't like to do laundry at the end of the day). I've opened many spas and worked at even more and you wont believe how they cut corners, wash laundry without soap, overfill the washers and/or not wash them at all. Sometimes the blankets used have been there a month and if someone is naked and sits on the blanket and then the next customer comes in and crawls under the blanket, well... that's kind of gross and can spread disease and bacteria and contagious disease.

12. Have the staff come early to set up so you don't have to interrupt your party or have the area they are to set up different than the common area of your guests.

13. In having a party, please please please, remove the things in your home that can be picked up and pocketed or office papers that can be seen if using offices. Purses, cash, jewelry and other valuables should be removed so you aren't finger pointing afterwards if something is missing. We've never had a problem, but I always advise my party host to do a run through to ensure safety.

14. Rose petals are gorgeous to use for a spa party. You may wish to buy some silk petals and scatter them around. Real roses are pretty, but if a guest steps on them they can stain the carpet and some flooring.

15. Spa music is a must. We recommend Tapas Rouge by Cirque Du Soleil. It is fantastic. You can buy it used on Amazon. Nice. Our Barbershop spa parties for men and boys, they enjoy Frank Sinatra music or The Rolling Stones. One of our great clients had an oldie spa party and it was really a great time. Everyone was singing along getting pampered. You can choose to make the music in each spa area different as well. Frank Sinatra manicures, Cirque du Soleil massage, Ocean wave Hawaiian facials and so forth. You can do a live harpist as well or a live string quartet or violinist is nice.

16. Spa concierge. We find it very helpful to have a spa hostess on the floor to carry purses and help with serving the guests. If you are being pampered, a butler type staff is very much a "brag" and it's very nice to have the additional service. Fun!

17. Guest Gifts. Photographs are common and important for memory lane and make a great gift after the party... such as a pictures of the bridesmaids all with their robes on.. If corporate, branded robes and branded travel kits are the big hit we are having requests for. Sometimes people give little boxes of chocolates for home or hand carved boxes with a wooden rose inside (we have a Canadian carver who does ours).

18. Candles are nice, aromatherapy soy are the best. They are not toxic and burn slowly and smell great. Always look for candles that are natural, not wax, and use essential oils as opposed to synthetic ones. If you can't find aromatherapy high quality candles you can buy unscented and add a few drops of essential oils to the top of the candle and when it burns it will dissipate. Aromas that are nice are floral, citrus, eucalyptus... there are alot of great aromatherapy recipes online as well as fun candle making kits. I've seen ladies make their candles at a club meeting and have a fun class and then light their candles at their spa party together symbolic.

19. Games and door prizes are always fun. A fun spa party is aromatherapy guesses. Choose 6 oils and drop a drop on a cotton ball and enclose in a zip lock back and mark with a number. Let your guests try and guess the scent of the oil. Best nose wins!

20. Skin and make-up classes, wardrobe styling and accessory add-on's to your party make it even more fun. Many ladies like to shop and drop while nibbling. You'd be surprised if you spend a minimum how many private boutiques will be interested in coming to the party and doing a trunk show. Sometimes you can get 10% of your sales to go to your favorite charity, such as the school fundraiser. The ladies can throw a party, as they would anyway, and earn 300-1,000.00 and up in kickbacks.

21. Art, wine and cheese tasting, chocolate and dessert tables and spa pampering services make your fundraising event the talk of the town . It's about $100/per person with Spa-Go's to provide all the above and tickets usually go for $250/per person, so the charity makes enough to cover the room rental and makes about $100 a head.

HAVE FUN! ENJOY! RELAX!
