April 20, 2009 Glendale AZ - BH Skating Parks International, a Canadian owned US company has been the pioneer in hybrid-ice™ synthetic ice skating rink events in the US and around the world. The growing popularity of this affordable alternative to real ice can be traced back to 2004 when BHSP promoted their first ice skating rink in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. In a time where ‘going green’ was becoming the new catch phrase, particularly in California, skating rinks made of recyclable plastic that require no electricity or refrigeration to operate got everyone’s attention.

BHSP President and owner Brenda Hann, believed that synthetic ice, which offers a less expensive and more user-friendly skating surface, would be a wonderful way to introduce non-skaters to the sport of ice skating, and would appeal to a new environmentally conscious market.
