U.S OPEN INLINE CHICAGO 2009 - May 1-3 - Inline Figure Skating Competition Comes to Chicago Area
U.S OPEN INLINE CHICAGO 2009 - The First Inline Figure Skating Competition and Seminar will May 1-3, 2009 in Romeoville, IL and attract skaters from all over the world compete! MEDIA WELCOME

The First Annual 2009 U.S. Open Inline Competition, Trade Show and Seminar will be held May 1-3, 2009 in Chicago area at USA Skate Center in Romeoville, IL. This is the first inline only skating event of its type in the USA and has attracted the interest of skaters and coaches in Brazil, France, Germany, Iran, India, Singapore, New Zealand and Belarus and other countries. Competitors and coaches will come representing many venues of skating: ice, inline and quad roller skating.
Events will range from Free Skating, Solo and Team Dance, Precision/Synchro, Show, Interp, Artistic and Basic skating all on inline skates. Some events require no preparation or special equipment.
Skaters of all levels are welcome to compete. Information and Rules are posted on the competition website http://usopeninline.com. The public is welcome to watch the events and participate in the Seminar to help us grow the sport.
We are also looking for more individuals and volunteers to help us grow the sport.
Top level coaches such as Nick Perna and others will be holding seminars during the weekend to help skaters tune up their potential and performances.
Including off-skate training techniques by Garrett Krug and the use of training videos and inline skating equipment by Joe Kaplenk. Private lessons will be available to help you learn more about this exciting growing sport.
The trade show will include representatives from the major inline figure skating manufacturers including PIC.

Story lines for the media could include:
* All current Inline Figure Skating events plus events based on events from several other skating disciplines.
* Events for all levels of skaters. Some that can be done on street inline skates.
* Events that do not require a program and provide a good test of the skater's skills.
* Survivor event-- A new original event designed to encourage team play and fun.
* Team events that include Show and Precision/Synchro
* Slalom/Freestyle using World Slalom Skaters Association (WSSA) rules in cooperation with the U.S. Freestyle Skaters Association.
