As a writer for many different industries many days of the week I brainstorm endless ideas and ways to talk about everything from; how a car seat or tyre can make you feel. To how to experience positive emotions and get out of debt. I know some very interesting topics.
Getting back to creating a poem. This does not have to be a sonnet fit for publication. It can be just a simple communication expressing gratitude, thanks and love to your Mom.

Now back to that blank writing pad. The questions most people have are; I am not a poet! Where can I start? What could I say? Where can I get some great Ideas?
Ok are you ready. Well a great way to start the process is to brain storm some of the things your Mom has done for you over the years. Then you can build your poem or verse around this.

To get the creative juices going I have listed an idea below that I know will stimulate more ideas for you that you will be able to expand on. Just put your self in the same position and think of the unique events where your Mother has touched your life. So how about this one. To start with; Moms always pick us up when we fall.
This is a great topic I am sure we could all writes pages and pages about and makes an ideal start for your Mother’s day poem for 2009.

Now as you cast your mind back I am sure you will think of times when your mother has picked you up when we were young. Perhaps a teenager, young or not so young adult.
I remember a number of failed relationships in my life where I went home with a broken hear, or so I thought at the time! and Mom was always there telling me, that he was not the one for me. Giving me hot chocolate and boosting my confidence.

Saying what a great catch I was and how the best guy for me was on order and on their way. I believed it as well. Mothers have that way about them don’t you think?

I imagine now you have been taken back in time to when you cried on her shoulder and likely never said thanks. You probably felt it? You just forgot to tell her at the time. Well this Mothers day 2009 is a time to show her you remembered and appreciated it with a card containing a Mothers day poem that is attached to a great gift.

Now even though we are talking about communication even in a down turned economy there are still plenty of options for a mothers day gift to go along side. Remember the upshot of giving? I don’t know about you. Mothers day makes me remember to say thanks. I guess the challenge is to focus on expressing gratitude to my Mom not just once a year.
