Making career transitions focus of free seminar May 13th at Holiday Restaurant, New Milford, hosted by BNI Housatonic New Milford Chapter, 6:30 to 9:00 PM.

“Making a Career Transition” will be the focus of the free May 13th business seminar being presented by the New Milford-based Housatonic 50th Chapter of BNI, Business Network Intl. The second in a series of interactive seminars, “Success: Sink or Swim In These Challenging Times… It’s Your Choice”, the program will help area business people and businesses cultivate strategies to grow their business or career, learn how to make a business or career transition, and how to make use of essential resources. The program will be held 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Holiday Restaurant on Route 7 in New Milford.

BNI Housatonic 50 Chapter President and New Milford attorney, Katherine Webster-O’Keefe, explained, “The ambition of the series is to provide other local area business owners with fast, tactical advice and counsel on how to grow their business, manage their costs effectively, how to best transition careers, plus achieve growth and enduring financial security during these economically challenging and life-changing times.”

“Managing Transition When Downsized” will be the first part of the two-part May 13th program presented by Gary Passineau with William Raveis in New Milford. "This can be a time of being on a financial and emotional roller-coaster.I will strive to help participants find answers to their personal questions."

“Managing A Career In Transition….Steps for ‘Going It Alone” will be the focus of the second portion of the program. Photographer, Rich Pomerantz in New Milford, will identify steps and tools needed to go from where an individual is currently to where he or she wants to be. Mr. Pomerantz will outline how he planned and executed his transition from being a successful lawyer into a successful career as a freelance photographer.

Refreshments will be served and the program will be held from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at the Holiday Restaurant located at 1 Kent Road/Route 7 in the Big Y Shopping Center in New Milford at the conjunction of Routes 7 and 202.
