Safety Comes First At California Kids Camps

Since 1945, Skylake has been teaching kids the thrills of adventure during their stays at the camp. The camp offers a choice of the one-week mini camp, the two-week session or the four-week camp. As member of the American Camp Association, Skylake has high ethical standards. Many of the 56 counselors who have been qualified to lead are former teachers. In addition, all of the new counselors are required to be either enrolled in college or have already graduated. Each one is fully trained in first aid, making the camp completely able to respond to the medical needs of the campers.

There are many things to do at Skylake. Water sports such as rowing, swimming and canoeing take place on the warm waters of Bass Lake. Land sports such as horseback riding, camping outdoors and archery are also available. Each activity is designed to teach the campers to learn from each other while building bonds with a diverse membership of campers. There are also off-site activities which take the campers into the western country they may only otherwise read about in books and magazines.
