IBO External Examiner Visits IB 2 Visual Arts Exhibition

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 1, 2009 -- Dr. Brenda Fajardo, the IBO External Examiner graced the opening of the on-going visual arts exhibit of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program of Southville International School and Colleges.

Launched last April 23, the exhibit which is the final examination for IB 2 Students who are taking Visual Arts, features 8 artworks using different media. From pop art paintings to multimedia works, and glass artwork to photography, the exhibit showcases the students’ ideals, beliefs and interpretation of the social issues affecting the world.

As what Mr. Claro Ramirez, Visual Arts Instructor and a renowned visual artist said, “Through arts, artists can see beyond the future. Arts allow people to look outside the box and see potential solutions to the problems. Arts allow people to rethink and reinvent.”

“Initially, I was very hesitant to take visual arts because I really thought that I had no creative skills but as our classes progressed, I started realizing my interest in drawing and painting,” said Jenell Añasco, an IB 2 Student and one of the exhibitors.
The Visual Arts Exhibit is open to the public and will last until May 10.
The IB Diploma Program is a 2-year pre-university program for students ages 15-19 years old. The IB Diploma is one of the most widely recognized pre-university requirements in the world.
