"Blip.tv has the perfect combination of a great brand, strong technical capacity, cool partners and super friendly content folks,” said series creator David Nett, “and the timing for this partnership is perfect for us." The series, which has seen five episodes so far in its first season, with two more episodes scheduled for May and June and a second season to begin shooting in the fall, will remain available on other streaming sites such as YouTube, but Blip.tv will be the primary source of video for GOLD's website and feeds.

Since reaching the internet in November of 2008, GOLD, a comedy webseries about professional role playing gamers (a la Dungeons & Dragons), has garnered a loyal following among fans of web video and players of both online RPGs and traditional pen and paper RPGs, and has enjoyed praise from popular gaming magazine, "The Escapist," as well as numerous RPG blogs. It has also had very positive coverage from online television magazines such as NewTeeVee, Broadcast Assassin, Tubefilter and Tilzy.TV, who wrote, "Overall there’s an impressively (dare I say it) Altman-esque atmosphere of casual and fresh conversation. And it works..."

"We've been getting a lot of great buzz from the very beginning," said Nett, "especially about the quality of our writing and acting. But, because we've been really focused on making the series rather than promotion, our viewership has remained fairly small. Now it is time to switch gears and really start getting the word out there. This partnership with Blip.tv is a great first step."

"Blip.tv is excited to be working closely with the team behind GOLD to bring it the audience it deserves," said Eric Mortensen, Director of Content Development of Blip.tv. "We're pleased that they chose Blip.tv to distribute their show."

ABOUT GOLD
----------

GOLD is a comedy television series for the web about the lives and struggles of professional tabletop role playing gamers preparing to compete at the World Goblins & Gold Championship. As the teams of elite athletes wrestle with professional and personal demons, they must all face a greater threat: the decline of their proud but aging sport in the face of the growing popularity of massively multiplayer online games. Told in traditional narrative style with a subtle blend of comedy and drama, GOLD is at once a parody of the portrayal of sports and athletes in television and film, and a loving tribute to the geekily wonderful world of traditional pen and paper role playing games.

GOLD is created by David Nett, and produced by Brown Corduroy Jacket. It features Rick Robinson, Gary Karp, Nathan Mobley, James Paul Xavier, Alan Loayza, Shannon Nelson, Robert J. Brewer, Shannon Ivey, David Nett, Angela Schnaible, Chuck Raucci and Jeremy Guskin, with direction by Andrew R. Deutsch, Lilas Lane, Kyle Dickinson and Frederick Snyder.
