Tap Forms Database 1.7 Released for iPhone

Available on the App Store since September 2008, Tap Forms was selected by Apple to be featured not only on the front page of the iTunes App Store in March 2009, but also is now being featured in Apple Retail stores worldwide to help promote iPhones and iPod touches.

Tap Forms is a customizable database app for the iPhone and iPod touch which will help you keep track of all your life's bits of information whenever and wherever you need it. Featuring over 25 built-in forms ready to customize and fill out to suite your own specific needs, Tap Forms satisfies a common need among mobile users. Many cell phones don't have the capacity to store much more than names and phone numbers. The iPhone and iPod touch allow so much more. With Tap Forms, users will have access to potentially thousands of pieces of information they may need whenever they are away from their home or office computers.


With an easy to use import and export function, Tap Forms integrates with virtually any desktop application which can export CSV files. Popular spreadsheet programs such as Excel and Open Office easily allow you to save files as CSV for importing into Tap Forms.


Tap Forms 1.7 introduces many new features which will make mobile database access convenient and fun:


* AES 256 bit encryption using built-in iPhone OS security framework

* Improved list view lets you view more than the first field in a form (up to 3 fields if first field is a photo)

* Added 3 levels of sorting

* Can now group records by specified field

* Switchable default database language

* Localizations now include German, French, Dutch, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (excluding default database), Spanish, Italian, and English

* 50 additional form icons (150 in total)

* General performance improvements

* Voice memo recording on iPod touch (2nd generation only)

* Can now choose delimiter for import and export (comma, semi-colon, tab, pipe)

* Built-in web browser now has option for “Open in Safari”

* Variety of date formats supported for import and export

* Number field +/- button added so you can enter negative numbers

* Added a combined Date & Time field


Tap Forms 1.6 is available now on the iTunes App Store for $8.99 USD. Version 1.7 will be available upon review and approval by Apple. Version 1.7 will be a free upgrade for all current and previous owners of any previous version of Tap Forms.
