Owner, Angie Fielder first thought of the idea for a stor e with a MMA theme while attempting to purchase her own uniforms and training gear. She quickly found she was limited to shopping only on the internet and even then the customer service offered by online shops was limited at best. Fielder’s wheels started turning. The increasing popularity of Martial Arts evidenced by numerous Dojos in many different disciplines, as well as, North Carolina's recent regain of its license to host MMA Events, added more needs for equipment and apparel for the competitors and fans.

The Flying Triangle is named after the submission choke hold used in martial arts, combined with the location of the business in central North Carolina’s Triangle area. The Flying Triangle always carries ATAMA and Gameness GI's in stock and has a large selection of Rash Guards, Grappling/Board shorts, T's, Gloves, Shin Instep Guards, Headgear, gear bags and caps. Fielder has studied To Shin Do Ninjutsu at the NC quest Center since 2005, Submission Grappling since 2007. Her employees also train in To Shin Do, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and play Rugby. The Flying Triangle owner and staff all understand the dedication and discipline that is put into training.
