Trading brownies for fireworks this 4th
SAN DIEGO, May. 15 - The likelihood of fireworks lighting up the night sky over Lake Murray this 4th of July may rest with a brownie. Or a few thousand of them.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) May 15, 2009 --
The fate of the Lake Murray Music Fest & Fireworks, which takes place annually on July 4th, may depend on it. This Sunday, May 17th from 10am-3pm volunteers from the community of Del Cerro will be hard at work selling their homemade brownies and other baked delights to passers-by at the corner of Del Cerro Blvd. and Marne Ave., to help raise funds for the event.
For Sean Melody, freshman at Patrick Henry and his mom Pam, they think they have the right recipe. “We did this last year, and the response was so-so. This year we hope it’s even better” says Pam. “Many people come to Lake Murray on the fourth of July and really enjoy the music and fireworks. People don’t realize how much money it takes to put on the event”.
Thousands are expected at the day long event. This year will feature many well known bands and the music get’s underway at 12PM and does not stop until the fireworks show at 9:15PM. Food and beverages will be offered by local vendors.
The major event sponsor this year is Windmill Farms. For further information about the event or if you are interested in participating, contact Don Brennan at 619.583.6050 or visit the event website at http://www.navajoevents.com.
