Panjsher Gems International Hand Carves Expensive Ethiopian Opals

(Free-Press-Release.com) May 26, 2009 -- High up in the Ethiopian highlands from 9000 to 14000 feet there are the remains of an ancient sea. A thin layer of opal was formed over the past 20 million years. It was reciently discovered last year in Gondar, Ethiopia and another deposit soon after outside the town of Welo. Theese are different than the nodule Volcanic opals found in the Shewa Provence in Ethiopia, Which are also a rarity in there own right! The Gondar and Welo opal deposits are of a seam type like that found in Australia. The vibrance and flash of colors run the intensity of the finest opals of Australia.

I have been cutting in my off duty time in the U.S. Army for a few years now and selling my finished gemstones to Jewelry MFG companies for awhile, this new material I can't cut it fast enough before it is sold! I will be retired from the US Army in a few months, due to injuries and will be mining the opals in Gondar after I leave millitary service.
