HOSTS WORLD’S TOP FEMALE PROFESSIONAL BILLIARD PLAYERS
AT GREAT LAKES CLASSIC, JUNE 18-21

The world’s best female pool players will battle for the top spot when Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa, Michigan City, Indiana, hosts the Great Lakes Classic June 18-21. This marks Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa’s fifth hosting of the Women’s Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) tournament, one of eight ESPN-televised events on the women’s pro billiard tour this year and the only Midwest stop.
This year’s field of 64 competitors includes the Great Lakes Classic defending champion, British native Allison Fisher, who will be battling for the title against current top-ranked player Monica Webb, winner of two consecutive WPBA titles, as well as the first tournament this year, the San Diego Classic. Fisher says she’s happy to be back at Blue Chip: “I’m looking forward to defending my title in front of this warm and appreciative crowd. They are in for some great action the week of the tournament,” she says.

The tournament will be held at Blue Chip’s new Stardust Event Center, where competition begins Thursday, June 18 and continues through Sunday, June 21. All-day ticket prices are $12 on Thursday, June 18 and $17 on Friday, June 19, plus tax. Sessions will be held from 11 am to 5 pm and from 6 pm to midnight. On Saturday, June 20, the day session will be noon to 4 pm and the evening session will be 5:30 pm to 11 pm. The cost is $22 per session, plus tax.

The semi-finals and the final match, which will be aired on ESPN at a later date, will be held starting at 1 pm on Sunday, June 21. Tickets cost $55 plus tax. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or at the The Gift Box in the Blue Chip Casino, Hotel & Spa pavilion. No one under 21 will be admitted.
