New Solution for Recycling Steel and Plastic Banding

Gold Hill, OR – In their efforts to ‘Go Green’ and encourage B2B recycling in an unsteady economy, Sweed introduces the latest development that will allow companies producing both steel and plastic banding scrap to easily use one chopper to process both materials, while still separating the material to get the best dollar for the scrap. The key lies in a versatile stand that allows the Sweed Model 300 Scrap Chopper to slide on one stand, between two bins – one designated for steel banding, one designated for PET banding. Operation of the Sweed 300 Scrap Chopper is as simple as introducing the strap into the in-feed funnel. The chopper will then continue to pull the banding until the strap is consumed. The Sweed 300 chopper cuts the waste into small pieces of scrap, and the scrap then drops (from under the chopper) into the appropriate recycling bin. The stand is made from heavy duty steel and there is ample space for a small skid to be placed under the PET and steel bins. The bins can then be easily removed with a forklift!
