The Sweed Versatile Veneer Saw System - Cutting New Paths In Veneer Handling Technology

The Sweed Versatile Veneer Saw System was developed upon customer request for a multi-purpose saw. It has the ability to replace three saws within a facility. It operates as a Coresaw, a Dual-End Trim Saw, and a Cut Back Saw, or any combination thereof. For example, the saw can dual-end trim as it cuts back from 10’ to 9’ or 8’. It features a single 48” End Trim Saw and an adjustable back stop that takes the End Trim Saw out of service. It also has a hydraulically adjustable 84” Cut Back/Coresaw that can be programmed to cut any length between 4’ and 10’; the use of linear transponder technology, allows this saw to make extremely accurate cuts on a repeated basis. The Sweed Versatile Veneer Saw System has a dedicated hydraulic power unit and is controlled by an Allen Bradley PLC with a touch screen display. By cutting back and end trimming at the same time, valuable production time is saved; and combining three saws into one machine also saves valuable floor space.
